| Required Skills: Tax expertise, MS Office Applications, knowledge of IT environments.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Individual will confer with other individuals within Tax Department on matters impacting tax types not directly handled by this position (Income and Franchise Taxes).
This position will be essential to implementing an automated process to accurately identify and report: Direct Pay vendors, qualified investment, self-assessed taxes, etc.
Sales and Use Tax Research and Planning, including, but not limited to:
- Taxability of hardware and software purchases
- Taxability of IT services provided by outside vendors
- Tax ramifications of IT&S services between client affiliates
- Tax ramifications of IT&S services to non-client entities
- Tax consequences of asset transfers between affiliates and non-affiliates
- Tax consequences of asset transfers between affiliates and non-affiliates
- Optimal corporate structure to meet operational objectives and minimize taxes
Assist with reviewing IT&S contracts (third-party and between affiliated entities) to ensure that they incorporate appropriate tax language.
Provide IT&S with budget information for taxes.
Assist IT&S with review of tax accruals.
Provide subject matter expertise to support IT&S tax audits.
Manage enterprise zone tax credits for IT Service Centers.
Coordinate Business License registrations and annual renewals for IT&S entities.
Perform periodic review of Corporate IT&S billing methodology.
Participate in design & replacement of IT&S Corporate billing system.
Attend relevant IT&S meetings and participate in planning to manage the tax costs of IT&S initiatives (outsourcing, transfer of HCAPS IT resources, consolidating RDCs, etc.).
Oversee sales & use tax and property tax compliance for IT&S entities.
Provide tax advice to IT&S as needed.
CPA license preferred. Sales and use tax expertise in technology field is required. Strong customer service orientation, communication, and relationship building skills are required.
